When most of us were growing up we had David Cassidy, The Monkee's and believe it or not Elton John. Now the newest teen idols are 'The Naked Brothers Band' on Nickelodeon who are on every teen magazine cover like David Cassidy used to be in the 1970's. No one was bigger than David Cassidy. He had is own plane, thousands of screaming fans, a tv show, records. He had it all. It's easy to see why Nat and Alex Wolff (upper left)are a hit with the Nick crowd. With the release of their "Naked Brothers Band Movie" on DVD, fans of the cable series can see how the talented and precocious boys started their domination of popular music. The real life brothers' mother, Polly Draper of "thirtysomething" fame, recognized the goldmine of entertainment in her two kids and created this film, which not only attracted big-name cameos and was popular at festivals, but showcased the boys' natural talents enough to earn them their own TV show. Set up as a rock documentary with references to the Beatles, the movie centers on how the Wolff brothers and their band, The Silver Boulders, deal with fame and the eventual breakup of the group . Parents will be charmed by Nat's crush on Rosalina Alex's outrageous fashion sense, the guest appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Uma Thurman, Tony Shalhoub and other stars. This is a kids film, but parents will relive memories of years past.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE HOSTS NICK AWARDS

Justin Timberlake got slimed at the 20th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday. The singer, who hosted the show, had vowed to "break the slime barrier" and escape being covered in green goo - a tradition at the popular ceremony -but ended up being gunged twice at the beginning and the end of the show. Justin had earlier boasted: "You'll never get a drop of slime on old J.T."The 'SexyBack' star - who won Favourite Male Singer - wasn't the only celebrity to be covered in slime at the event. Mandy Moore and 'Spider-Man' star Tobey Maguire were among the others celebrities who also got covered in slime. Despite his victory, Justin was defeated in another of the event's traditions - losing his title of best burper. The defending belcher champion was challenged to a live burp-off with the 12,000- strong audience, and lost. Justin said: "Tonight I went head-to-head with every kid in the audience and I don't know if I stood a chance. They came in strong and I gave it a go but it just wasn't good enough."'Charlotte's Web' actress Dakota Fanning, 13, was named Favourite Female Movie Star, while Beyoncé Knowles took Favourite Female Singer.Gwen Stefani and Maroon 5 were among those who performed at the event.The winners were voted for by a record 40 million American children.
